MI'S PERSONALITY:
Unmasked:
- Painfully Blunt: Often asks very direct questions like “Are you down to forage for mushrooms?” Right after a totally different kind of conversation.
- Secretly A Fanboy: Absolutely loves science-fiction media, especially with strong feminine leads— Mainly because he used to be over the head for a certain female intergalactic warrior.
- Very Hyperactive: Considering he probably has severe ADHD; he obviously is going to do things he has a hard time controlling himself.
- Tragically Oblivious: Have a crush on him? He won’t know unless you’re being super blunt or painfully obvious about it.
Masked:
- Very Deadpan: You won’t expect him to talk or express himself much, aside from if he thinks he has something important to say.
- Pretty Calm: Didn’t expect an ADHDer to be that calm, huh? Yeah, he does mask up to that point. He can be calm in highly social settings… Only for, like, three to six Earthen hours though.
- Put Interests Away: People not knowing him personally expect him to be normal, so talking about niche interests and being himself equal disastrous results! Mi automatically puts them away and pretends to be interested in simpler and more mainstream things.
- Fake Till You Make It: Don’t understand what others are saying or doing? Just wave and smile! Act as normal as possible, act like you know what to say and how to do things right.
HOPE'S PERSONALITY:
Being the very last of her own kind and permanently turned into a shapeshifting machine for her own protection, it's such an understatement to say how stressed and overwhelmed for how she's been trying to fit into any modern situation, especially since she's from all the way before the big bang. With her passion for lighting up things, which is part of her culture, and not everyone sharing her passion, plus her muteness/deafness, makes it more difficult for her to make new friends as she's very sociable and curious. Yes, she can turn into her favorite humanoid form, or even some random similar feminine figure, in order to socialize more properly. However, it's obvious to say but she's also very paranoid and worried about who to trust especially with her past. She's learning as many sign languages as possible, and only knows one by heart; her own home sign language (ZSL), which consists of drawing pictographs in the air charged with energy. She never forgets, obviously. With her being as old as the universe (or more) itself, it's safe to say her personality can be quite unpredictable and questionable at best.
BACKSTORY:
Having been born with such a rare and almost unknown disease that caused him to get extremely weak, go nearly full-blind, and be lethargically allergic to almost everything, Mi had a very unfortunate and depressing childhood as his whole family held a rather unpleasant, religious belief, like every other one, that children like him were cursed by a wicked extraterrestrial witch and were supposed to be put out of misery for the greater good. For many years after Mi was forcibly ‘blessed’ by the priestess, Mi still struggled to make friends, even as someone about to enter puberty.
One day, he was supposed to attend his graduation, but he ran away as he broke down crying and cut through the forest– Little did the poor child know, there’s a massive invasion happening right in front of him and he got caught up in the crossfire. However, he was decidedly chosen to live by Prince Lavka himself, who was leading the invasion, and put to work side by side with Rovakia’s most warped and insane scientist to date, Rozki.
Mi wanted, so badly, to get out and be free but then he reconsidered– Was he even free with his family? After they treated him like a piece of trash? After they forced him to behave a certain way they wanted while everyone else did whatever? And with that, he decided that as long as he followed the scientist’s orders and showed the Rovakian royalties his respect, he’d be allowed to live and wander freely and even treated like royalty…
However, little did he know, his home was nearly destroyed to bits and Mi’s heart sank to hell and back as soon as he found out when he watched the news during lunchtime with his badly cracked square eyeglasses. Rozki knew what he had to do to avoid future disasters, sending Mi home. And so, he did and sent him away in a sleeping foreign, primordial ship whose people his own had invaded and driven to extinction.
NOTE:
You have my permission to draw your own depiction of how Hope's other forms, that aren't her main, would look in your entries, by the way! She always changes it up anyway!
