The Inaugural
After the hard work of everyone involved, we're ready now to push to the first stage of Open Beta. The doors are opening up and it's time to come in. We want you to join the fun!
Objective
A big part of this tournament is to give us the opportunity to test features. We're still developing much of the site and we've been overwhelmed by the response you've all given us thus far. We want to push for more feedback and learn more about this from you all. The best way to do that is to jump into the deep end!
Registration
To enter the tournament, register and submit your character to https://oculama.com/ and join our Official Discord Server to sign up.
How do I submit a character?
Submitting a character for Oculama.com requires only the Character Illustration and the Design Sheet. You don't need to have any of the battle poses finished, but it makes your page look extra pretty! However, make sure it adheres to the dimensions and sizes laid out at #character-art-requirements channel in our Official Discord Server !
After that, make your intention known and share the link to your character at the Oculama community discord channel #sign-ups channel. Don't worry if you can't enter, we'll be opening up battles and collabs for everyone then!
Sign Up Deadline and Tournament Start Date
You have until Friday, July 29th, 2022 to enter. The tournament will begin on Sunday, July 31st, 2022.
Expect this tournament to reach its conclusion no later than mid-October.
Tournament Details
Artists will be given a deadline of One (1) Week each round to complete a comic with a maximum of 5 pages. We're still testing some of these features and if something gets buggy, it'll be good for everyone if we don't push more than that.
Winner Selection
This tournament will be Community Vote style. Which is what we've been doing on the site for this last month with your help! There are no judges beyond your peers and they will give you feedback during this.
Format
This tournament will be single elimination duels (that means one on ones).
Rewards and Prizes
Participation in this tournament will give your characters Trophies with Titles to go with it! Win the tournament to get an exclusive title!*
* Trophies and Titles are an upcoming feature of the site. More details on that to come
In Closing
If you do join this tournament, do not be surprised if you come across any bugs or any sort of weirdness. If you do, make sure to share it in #bug-report channel in our Discord server.
