SPECIAL FRIEND is a skinless psychic abomination in super sentai clothing. He is omni-empathic, meaning he can read emotions from anyone anywhere in the universe. No one is sure what he was before he was Special Friend, but he believes himself to be Junction's own therapist, life coach, and personal trainer. He isn't above brutality to get the best results from those undergoing his unique brand of "therapy", believing that the pain will make the "patient" a stronger, humbler, and more experienced individual.

- When engaged in combat he spouts motivational slogans, encouraging his opponents to do the best they can, even if they're trying to kill him.
- He is able to channel concentrated emotions into an outward stream, which can be used for three things: destructive heat force, non-lethal concussive force, or levitation beams.
- He can manipulate his own density and even take on a non-solid, purely psychic astral form if he concentrates. In this form, he can enter the mindscapes of other beings.
- For transportation he can summon the Friend Ship, a machine powered by thoughts, rumored to be a remnant of the universe that existed before the Big Bang.

The living psychic embodiment of pure emotion is loosely affiliated with a super team of like-minded entities, Special Friend acts as the glue that binds friendships together and the spark of motivation for many mortals he encounters.
