Gar was a disciple of the ancient order of Mazat monks, trained in their cliff-side monastery, high above the clouds. He was an impatient student, and sought the venerable technique of the Death Finger in secret, while his masters were not watching. Only those who have attained utmost control over their chakral alignment have the fortitude to learn the technique without suffering harm. Gar was not ready, and his chakra were warped by a fraction of the Death Finger's power shooting through his veins. When his masters discovered what he had done, he was barred from further training, as he had already grown too crooked. Now he serves as an acolyte to the monastery, foraging for herbs and bringing water.

Gar's years of study have lent him the appearance of serenity, but behind his eyes a fury burns, and he cannot help but blame his masters for what happened to him. At times he leaves the monastery, seeking fulfillment in the outside world which he understands so little about. Though his training was halted early, Peace and War are the first two arts of the Mazat Monk, and he knows them well. Lacking practical world experience, Gar is quick to quote proverbs, and relate to parables he was taught.

The scarring of the Death Finger's presence has left Gar with a strong chi flow from his right index finger, and he can use it to create blasts of plasma. The blasts are somewhat uncontrolled, and lacking in precision and range, but they can be quite powerful.
