In life, Briar was an up-and-coming monster hunter. In death, she serves the spirit called Andrea, carrying out their requests in exchange for her continued semi-life. Andrea tends to accompany Briar, save for times where they depart to handle issues between spirits. Briar can wield degrees of Andrea’s strength - but reliance on one’s benefactor is not a desirable trait for a tool.

When not carrying out Andrea’s will, Briar will take on bounties herself to earn coin - living the high life while she can. While no legendary swordswoman, she is plenty proficient and continues to train even in death. By comparison, Andrea is far more lax. Time means little to an immortal spirit, and once their latest tool inevitably breaks, there are plenty of other dying souls willing to strike a deal.
