Luke is a sweet boy who loves his parents, meeting new people, and the Luminous Inevitability of Mother Lux. He is currently undergoing his Ordeal: A Luxite ritual in which young adults must leave home and go out into the sinful world, sharing the joyous truth with outsiders. He must stand firm in his beliefs and not succumb to cruelty and sin for a year and a day. Only those who maintain their faith will be allowed back into Mother Lux's embrace.
Luke genuinely wants to help the poor lost souls of the multiverse. However, he finds it hard not to look down on sinners, and has a bad habit of gossiping.
