ok these two are super hard to judge! they are both such great entries I'm having a hard time dividing up stars for each! great job to all of you!

Oh we both coincidentally went greyscale this round nice. Trix are you smoking in the library. D'aww naptime. Camping is a legitimate strategy.

DSHIRUHSIEHUIR LARPERS. TEAM ROCKET STYLE.

Knights? Demons?? A gAMER??? I can only imagine what cool stuff y'all are cooking up for this one. Godspeed on your comics!

The VR game setup was an inspired choice here; it feels right for your opponents, of course, but adding your knights in a capacity where they're still on their people-hunting grind worked nicely. You worked so many cool little fourth-wall break conceits in very clever ways that kept me grinning as I read. I would love to see more use made of what makes your opponents unique incorporated into the comic flow, but that doesn't really detract from the story itself. Between this comic and your first, I'm coming to really appreciate how well these knights work through bounty-hunting and comedic chases. The panel with Bootstrap and Ginger having post-con lunch together was really sweet, and a nice way to end the comic.

There's some ambitious storytelling happening here, and I think there are a few minor fixes that could oil the wheels on making that story come across. Some of that is issues in the text (why is bootleg screaming on page 5?, general punctuation issues throughout), but there are also a few spots where I struggled to parse some of the art as well; nothing that killed the storytelling, but did slow my pace (A few examples: trying to figure out what the guy in the middle of page 4 is doing, figuring out that the panels on page 5 were supposed to be widescreen, realizing the cosplayer on page 9 hit them on accident).

That said, I still found the visual gags to be a strength of this comic. The humor thereof was skillfully applied to match the level of comedic peril in the story. (I ESPECIALLY enjoyed the bit on page 2 where the knight's anger is manifested as the very panel that they're in, being focused/ channeled into chibi-Ira). I'm impressed too how well you told the story without the need for text throughout much of the tale. A lot of the visual storytelling beats work really well even if one didn't necessarily have the pre-background reading on the characters (thinking Gingersnap's horsegirl inclinations here). Really nice entry overall, and can't wait to see where these knights go next~~~

Y'all have hit a terrific artistic stride in this tournament; I talked a bit in my review for your r1 on how well it fit the sort of fights that you have going on, and I think the same is true here. I'm reminded a bit of Meridith Gran's Octopus Pie, insofar as your mastery of figuring out just the right balance of detail is concerned - the panels are not busy by any stretch, but each panel's illustrations still have a depth of interest to them. The expressions of every character are absolute treats as well; I'm delighted by how you conveyed the emotions of the knights through their visors, and I love Ira's emoting in every panel she's in. Additionally, you're doing a spectacular job setting the stage (And exiting the stage) for each leg of the comic with establishing shots.

The storytelling here is pretty solid from the get-go; my biggest sticking point would be the ending. There's a lot of great buildup and expositing on Trix that gets integrated really well with the action - and then the final stroke from Ira feels a bit...unequal to everything that comes before it. The big thing for me is that, while very cool, it doesn't quite feel like a thematic payoff of any of the comic that precedes it - Ira is just the bigger beast, and wins by that alone. Even though her powers have been established in the earlier comic, I feel like their application here to make Ira big enough to one hit KO the nights is a bit obtuse; Whose anger is she feeding off of in this situation? Was she being charged with anger the whole time, and just needed the knights to destroy the cage? This is a bit nitpicky, but I feel this vagueness compounds the disconnect between the fight and its conclusion.

Re: the writing, I like how you've been deftly working an increasing closeness between your OCs in the comics so far. The writing for Gingersnap and Bootleg had a proper balance of funny and serious (insomuch as an action/comedy feeling piece should be serious), and they slotted very nicely into one of the school clubs. The larger "Club culling" theme has been an exceptionally fun backdrop for all your match-ups. the continuity has lent a lot of strength to this pair, and I'm excited to see how much further it can go!

Some of the fidelity is less in round 2 with the coloring and general detail but it's never distracting, which is good. This had a really solid core with the relationship between gingersnap/bootleg and Trix, I was really quite engaged - it can be a gamble to try and forge a backstory with an opponents character(s) as it can come off as contrived, but I think this one pulled it off. Some nice action here, good posing, although it's lacking a bit in dynamism, some sfx would've elevated it just a tad bit. Regardless, a fun comic here, excited to see more of these characters!

Fun comic here! Love the format screw with the vr scene. Very crisp clear lines and some great values goin on here, more on the midtone side but it delivers on clarity. Speaking of which- this comic is chock full of creative paneling and transitions, but I feel it's at the detriment to the clarity of the story, as I found it a bit hard to follow moment-to-moment. It's a bit tricky for me to nail down why, it could be the lack of establishing shots which made it hard to visualize the space, it could be the lack of backgrounds which serves to alienate the characters spacial relations. It mostly seems to happen during the action - I think having more conventional paneling here would've helped, and having more of a focus on very clear action poses and more of a focus on the spatial relations of the characters. Good stuff, hope to see more!

This was a down right great comic. So much to love with this one.

The paneling you guys did for this was pretty damn cool. I liked the action and how you are setting up this world for peeps. The backgrounds gave a very nice sense of space.

It was nice to see some backstory with Trixs and the knights. It was also a nice way to tie them into your story/world that you're building. Also a nice way of using ira’s powers at the end.

I don’t have much to critique. Overall it was a very nice little comic. A very solid comic.

Wiz

It was kind of confusing what was going on in this panel wise. Kind of disrupted the flow of the comic. Especially with the lack of backgrounds made things kind of hard to follow.

I do feel that it was kind of simple, like the characters don’t really interact besides chasing ira and Trix through a VR game. It’s a fine idea but it would be nice to have them engage in a more impactful way. Like there was not much banter between the two groups, I feel like that would have helped to make things flow better perhaps.

The art was pretty nice. I liked the backgrounds you did have. And overall it was a pretty good comic!

Man, I'm really digging these two; enjoy the sort of high school (I mean college) battle narrative going on here. Gives the story a unique and pretty creative feel to it. I enjoyed all of the character gestures, everyone felt energetic and full of personality. Especially for page 13 with Ira's ultimate form? (but it's only round 2 so there may be more) It's a nice kind of "flex" page that gives the comic some oomph, not to mention a nice emotional climax for the ending. Honestly I don't have alot of notes here this was solid and I enjoyed it very much. It's very much my kind of thing.

Footini

Props to making the dating sim style comic. It feels only appropriate what with the gamer nature of your opponents' characters. (also that what we was planning on doing if we fought them so dang it). Also the game convention setting felt fitting for them too. Ya'll had some good humor going on here though I did have to read this several times over to really get what was happening. Things got a little too chaotic and some of the visuals were hard to follow (for me at least). I did like the art here, somewhat simple designs but the extra dating sim touches made things feel unique. Though I do think ya'll should rethink the smearing effect ya'll had on some of the characters.
Actually drawing it out and having some broken lines along the figure or a bit of stretching to indicate speed would look better than smearing the lines with a brush afterwards.
Other than that note everything's pretty solid and I really like this team of wacky knights.

InkySlime

This was a lot of fun to read and I think the convention and VR dating sim Angle was a lot of fun and very clever. The ending made me giggle too and was just so playful, a whole lot of fun. You guys also did a great job of playing with your Panel layouts and embellishments, I think that added a lot to the feel of the comic! The action in here was really dynamic and full of energy as well.
My only critique is I think with some of the layouts I think could have been improved compositionally a little bit, most notably page 3 at the bottom, That wide shot of them running could have been brought down a bit and give the upper panels some breathing room and balanced out some of the negative space.

I really enjoyed reading this and you guys work well together. I hope to see more of these two!

InkySlime

This was an absolutely charming read!! I had so much fun and I really love how you guys incorporated your opponents in to the College AU and added to Trix's back story! I thought that was really well done.
Overall I felt the pacing was really good and the action really stood out! I thought you guys did a really solid job!
My only Critique I really have is I think some of the Grey scale values could have been pushed a bit more to help break things up visually, they blend a bit in some of the panels.
Otherwise, Solid work you guys, again this was so much fun to read and I really enjoy you two working together!

This comic has a sensational sense of timing, it's surprising to see the page count with how much happens and sets up. The exception to this is some of the dialog, which sometimes feels overpacked and long for the amount of information and characterization being displayed. The spotlight is definitely in the character acting, every pose and emotion is full of personality and energy. Even characters who have no face, you get instantly what they're all about in any scene just by looking at them. The story's emotional arc comes through very cutely, a very nice contained story even within the greater schoolyard arc. Very cool.

Pengogo

The paneling here is so creative, it really blends a VR visual novel feeling well with a traditional comic. It keeps up the hectic pace really well, but sometimes makes things hard to follow. I think some more backgrounds would help with that greatly, as well as either some tones or spotblacks, as the outlines have a homogeneous weight to them that can make things blend together. A couple pages actually do this quite well, the ending in particular looking spectacular. The writing is fantastic, it's absurd in a very mundane down to Earth way and the panels are packed with little stories. Absolutely lovely.

Rivana

Lucky Corn - The saga of the school club marches on! I must say, this ongoing plot about the battle of clubs is an absolute delight, a really great setup for team tournaments like Double Trouble. As I read into your comic, the paneling immediately caught my attention. It strikes the perfect balance between readability and dynamic visuals. I was particularly impressed by how each character's personality shines through the pages. And that ending! What a spectacular way to resolve the conflict! I love the zoomed-out panel at the end showing us the utter devastation of that last move. Well done!

Rivana

Minty Lexi - Really cute art style! I really love the premise you guys have here and it was really fun watching the chase unfold within a video game/VR. And all that for nothing as there was no money to be stolen XD . I think having Bootleg and Sir Gingersnap not even transform in the VR game was genius (as they fit right in!). Also adding more tones and shading (for more contrasts) would've helped give the scenes more oomph and separate the panels. But this was a fun read nonetheless and I love how crisp and clean your lines were (well, except for the blurry parts but those were intentional lol). Great job!!

Piñata

When I think of teams who've attained drift compatibility this team definitely comes to mind. It's clear you two are no stranger to the tournament format and it shows page to page. I really enjoy your characters chemistry and how each round affords time to 'fight' your opposition but still allow these two to grow closer. Not to mention how you impalement completely incongruous opponents to fit not only in your comics universe, but the narrative. I didn't think I'd enjoy the tried and true high school AU as much as I do whenever I come across y'alls comic.
If I had one note, its that the anger fuel Ira has established feels a bit vague by way of pay off and resolution this time around. Perhaps open to interpretation or up to debate was the intent?

Piñata

such lovely smooth inks and clear crisp paneling. I am still astounded that this is a duo team because your work and styles meld together pretty seamlessly. Not to mention the humor and foray in to futuristic aspect like VR by way of two classic storybook knights. Humor is definitely your teams strength and you leaned into it this round, but if I had a note, I'd say to try and lean into your environments. I know that's a tall order considering the making of comics on a time crunch deadline on top of a breakneck tournament, but with characters like the ones you have, I personally would've loved to have seen more Arthurian landscapes, ramparts and castles. Even so, all in all this was definitely a Knight to remember! :D

xeno112

I really loved the pencil style of your line work and the expressions you were able to really able to convey with Trix and Ira! double for both Sir Gingersnap and Bootleg since they were fully covered this whole comic! The move to tie in your opponents to Trix's backstory was a great and believable point of conflict and gave a really good reason for trix to be so reserved in a " how much blood must I bath" kinda way which is bad ass! the panel showing bootleg and trix rooftop battle super well done and I loved it!

xeno112

This comic had some really great unique panel transistions I havent really ever seen done and deserves special praise for how you had Ira go into the inventory and yank out the wallet and had it reflected on the next page! that was stellar! I also loved the VR simulator shenanigans going on it the background of the comic and the framing you used for the chase section was amazing and fun to read all the way through. I am also a fan of light hearted comedy and the setting and conflict were great ways to really give a great fun read with these characters! absolutely loved both of these
