Charming and quite funny my dear ole kazar. You're on a really big cuteness overload with your comics recently it's very nice and fits the style you draw with. I can see you trying to add a bit more to backgrounds and everything, but I think you can go a bit further there and get some more variety in your panels and how everything is set up. You get a couple new angles, perspectives etc it would be a nice little bit from your standard straight on head shot. Very cute comic though I cant stress this enough. The panel of the child beater is amazing, and then Vangelica ripping up the paper, and Bodo looking at the ladybug are top tier the cutest. Great job kaz!
SNOT DAMN! This is very very good, your work is really crisp and as much as Kaz makes his comics cute you made your comic even cuter. Also really funny way to continue Bodos story while also continuing Vangelicas story, seeing the two of them now both child beaters is hilarious. I would suggest adding a darker tone to the comic as well. You use the darkest one in a few spots but I think your comics would benefit from including it a bit more. with all the black and white work sometimes when you got a bunch of the lighter tones or the straight white on eachother it lacks a certain pop. It doesn't happen often but it's just something to look out for in the future. I also wonder what adding spot blacks to your comics would look like, could be something to look at in the future. Great comic though, very very very well done. Amazing job!
I really enjoyed the side by side view of both of their routes, and the comedy that came from their opposing experiences! The continuity of this round with the previous is pretty straightforward, always fun the start a comic with a callback to past events. Although you had to cut from your plans, I think you managed to have a solid and efficient story and good punchline, that final page with the christmas tree reveal and R1 callback made me chuckle.
There's a really nice balance of humor and heart with this comic, and I love the newpaper blubs! Having the previous mention of by passing the tests with a written essay was a funny set up for their interaction this round. I think you did a great job this round with being selective of when to have backgrounds and when to have tones do heavy lifting, it works out really well makes the comic really cohesive.
a very fun and straight forward comic! I liked the split between the two paths on page two and I thought the ending was a good chuckle.
You had some nice jokes in the comic. I think for the final page though, I would recommend swapping the panels so they matched the second page to continue on with the reading flow that you had for the characters, suddenly switching which sides the characters stories are on at the end disrupts the flow a bit.
otherwise nice job!
This is such a cute comic! I really like how you tied in your opponents story and trying to save their reputation and then only making things worse. It was a cute turn of events.
I liked your panel flow and your use of tones was really nice. Overall I thought it was a very cute and fun story.
I can't wait to see what you do for the next comic! Bodo is very adorable!
I recognize you had some short time for this round - but even so, you made a nice little comic! While your punchline was cut off a bit, you did a very solid job with the time afforded to you. Artwise though, I want to see you push it in the future. Limiters are off and you have time to draw to your full extent. I know you're a very solid writer as Vine Noon has shown and despite how funny you've done Vangelica, I would like to also see her done with a more serious narrative when you get the chance! Can't wait to see what you do next! Good work!
Again - very cute comic.I love seeing how you incorporated your previous round and how you played with the joke that Kazar made in the previous round. The backgrounds and tones this round were stepped up a ton from previous round. I really like the usage of tone over the greyscale from the previous round. In addition, your shadows were much darker and it looks so much stronger as a result. You have some parts that are a little messy with the application - page 4 for instance - be careful with that! Outside of that, I love seeing this step up in quality and improvement over the previous round. I can't wait to see what your next round holds! Great work!
Cute story kazar! Short but funny, the punchline hits just right. You are slowly getting better with your art, but I think you need to experiment with perspective a little bit; Your panels tend to look a bit flat because of the way that the horizon line is placed and the fact that the furniture and the characters don't reflect the vanishing point. Try to replicate some complex shots from your favourite movies; ones with multiple vanishing points, even. Study how everything warps accordingly, and you'll be able to boost your stories with more 3-dimensinal art :3
Moku! Your art was so clean and nice this round :D And your stories are fun and light as always. I think, if I had the point something out, it would be the fact that your compositions get kinda cluttered at times? Especially on that second page. There's a lot of panel breaks, and that plus the complex background of the library (along with some tangents in your art) overwhelms the eyes and mayes it so that it's hard to tell "where" to read next. I'm running out of time as I type this so if you want a more detailed review, hmu on discord.
Haha the natural Christmas tree got me bad XD I love how much you lean into the tongue in cheek aspects to this hero academy tourney. I also like the callback to poor Flygirls concerns over what her reputation may be threatened with after her unintentional win against a literal child.
On a technical aspect, I like the small touches to ensure the reader doesn't get lost. Keeping the instructors and Bodo's word bubbles color coded to match the speakers allows for more ease in how you set your scene.
I do notice you switched path A and B on the last page which I think took me a bit to understand who was what, but otherwise another pretty solid second round
That posted news report is such a flame XD Haha, down to the candid photo and misquote. Your paneling and scene composition feels so cozy. It's easy for tight quarters like this to feel crowded, but I love how you manage to still maintain space. The tongue in cheek bits like the gameboy word bubbles and dynamic angles for shenanigans in a library of all places is just really charming. Your comics are just a fun read which leaves the reader chuckling along with the antics that culminate in another scathing news report, gottamn XDD Very funny round, from start to finish.
I must confess the all-natural tree made me laugh out loud! Completely did not see that coming and you get kudos for that for sure! There's a bit more going on in this comic vs the last one which is nice to see, you are doing well when it comes to budgeting how much story you can tell in just three pages. Honestly if you keep coming up with great punchlines that can do a lot of carrying for you down the line. Fun stuff!
Nice and cute little slice of life! The legibility was at 100% the whole way through so that's nice! Quality still seems strong in the visual department as well. If I have any more serious critique to give is that the writing for this one felt a little less interesting than the past round. There a bit of trope behavior going on here, with the clueless but good-hearted boy innocently wanting to spend time with the dismayed girl, coming up with just the right lines to make her feel better, it's bordering on formulaic, but I can see how a speed tournament makes looking for sharper writing in a script tough so I wouldn't stress about it. Great product overall
aww sometimes you get to pick your nickname in school and sometimes your nickname unfortunately chooses you lol. I enjoyed this one quick and simple but a little bit confusing at the end. I assume the snowman is why bodo ended up finding the christmas tree instead of the person they were meant to be looking for or they misunderstood the drawing on the board either way a little more setup in a panel for the misdirect at the end i think would have worked a little better but fun comic all the same cant wait to see more!
oh gosh lol your entries are really stellar so far! I love how you have so much going on in the page from the newspaper to the background cuts to keeping the focus on the characters in the middle! and I love your art style as well and just overall how u seem to be working your opponents info/current round into your comic in a perfectly goofy slice of life way I cant wait to what you do next round!

Mokuzuu
>> Kazar
YEAH who cares about targets when they can go looking for their Natural Christmas Tree™️!!
I loved the comedic aspects in your last comic, and I Iove it this round so much as well!! From the start with all the student’s questions to the last panel, it was such a fun and cute comic. . . I say despite the fact Vangelica looks like she is NOT having fun. . . Hmm. . . But who would have known beating up a child has consequences. . . ??
