What a way to waltz into a tournament! Its been quite some time since I've seen a pre-tourney comic from a duo and you two did not disappoint. This is such a handy way to formally introduce your characters and establish the type of partnership readers can expect between these two. Too often the usual expectation is 'they're buddies' because its you VS the world, but it certainly adds an extra bit of spice to have it be you VS your partner VS the world.

Some stylistic choices in your story utterly tickled me with how you joined Raven and Tio together. The color coded exposition bubbles, the merged coloring as they unwittingly shared notions and thoughts that ultimately make them a dastardly duo. I think palette wise some of your coloring alongside the animation gets a bit muddy- namely the bottom panel of page 2. Your big animated page 3 likewise has minute gaps here and there but I'll fully admit this is nitpicking as the average bear going through this would correctly just find the overall work stunning.

The combat choreography on top of having to manage these characters very unique powersets and abilities is NOT easy, but the fall out the building and flow of paneling page to page as they plummet really added a wonderful fluid aesthetic to the events being depicted. I think it would've been very easy to have Ravens high fantasy abilities look goofy pitted against Tio's Sci Fi gadgets, but I think color wise and within the scope of the Junction was handled beautifully. Also Raven hijacking the bat aliens craft indicated by seeing them utterly beat up after the fact is the kind of visual storytelling I LOVE to see.

I am appropriately amped to see how you make this space aged junction universe your own and how these two characters clash together again for round one of the tourney. Best of luck!

The paneling! The coloring! The edited graphics! Everything has blown me away and I’m nearly speechless! I don’t know what to say other than this comic is genuinely phenomenal! You two are a dream team and I for one can’t wait to see more just like this from you both. One more small touch I loved was the addition of the pink and blue text symbolizing both of their thoughts at the same time. Such a subtle thing but I really liked it! Please keep up the fantastic work you two!

Excellent comic. Really loved the narrative use of the text boxes sharing their thoughts and thought it was a cool way to show a connection. The art turned out very nice and if it's an indication of how your comics in the tournament will look, you are both in terrific shape. The animated parts were very defining for this comic and give it a ton of character. The action was superb as well, really loved how the fight sequences turned out and I'll be curious what future interactions for these two look like (that's going to make the Holidays awkward). You both are such experienced collaborators at this point that it's a practiced dance, but it's great to see it performed on here. Fantastic work for the both of you.

Stellar (ahem) stuff here. This is the sort of OC comic that leaves a reader with little doubt as to the prowess and learned mastery of its makers. Everything here, from the pacing, to the artwork, to the layout of the pages, both as individuals and in combination with each other, rings with intent and skill.

The story is a beautiful tragedy. You sell the chemistry between Tio and Raven very convincingly in a short stretch, and its quick deterioration is not only convincing considering the importance of what's at stake for each of them following Raven's revelation, but absolutely heartbreaking as a showcase of how even the seeds of something nice can be hopeless in the face of extant trauma and obsession.

Everything looks wonderful here. The palette is colorful and energetic without ever sacrificing clarity of action, and the facial work throughout conveys an impressive range of emotions.

What I appreciate most of all from this comic is how full it makes the world of the junction feel, even when it's mostly a backdrop for a more character-driven story. With a decided sci-fi bent, you've made it feel like a place with a lot bubbling under the surface, in addition to making it look stunningly beautiful in general.

Overall, one of the most engaging intro comics to a tournament that I've read to date; cannot wait to see what you have in store for the Comet Chaser proper.
