I personally really loved this comic I loved all your visual effects it was a lot of fun to read and see how her magic works and how it looks like the fact that once she focuses on a location she eats the spell like a gumball and the effect it has on her. I personally dont have much if any gripes but I do feel we are a bit close, I think it works for the early shots because of how cluttered her tower is, but later on the shots still make me feel like we are really up close and way too personal, I think a few wide shots could have helped here but over all what we focus on is really good and is fun to see! Amazing job!
Despite this being my first vote/review, I'll have to deviate from the standard suggested "sandwich" formula simply because I have nothing to criticize negatively.
The art is splendid with abundance of detail at times, really making the environment feel lively, and although I'm not normally a fan of mixing Fantasy with more modern aesthetics, I still found it all lovely despite that.
As for the content/storyline itself I simply love the calm before the storm and the between-action events being depicted and the simple casual interactions. It does a great job of feeling cozy and homely, and also sets the stage for the character's appetite, which, according to their profile, is a pretty important trait.
What a great comic. As of this moment, its our longest on the site, so good job there. Your colors are fantastic looking and I really love the detail you've put all over your backgrounds. You really get her character across without needing any dialogue and that makes for some very fun comic-making. I'm excited to see just what you end up doing with her on here, because I'm definitely won over. Your colors are lovely here as well, the 'crayon/chalk' brush you used looks really nice on your style and helps give it a lot of cute chunk.
I think there's only one particular snag that sticks out to me and it deals with Myrtle's design. Specifically, the random hairs that are sticking out from her gives it more of a texture of felt to me as opposed to hair. This isn't a major issue, it's just something that would maybe benefit from the old adage of less is more in some panels. I would consider trying more swooping stray hairs instead, which I think would still get the point across.
All in all, this is a tremendous intro comic and I'm super excited to see what you'll do with her next. Great work!
This comic is so wholesome and whimsical. The colors are so vibrant and fun. I love the Doctor Seuss reference on page 8. Each page was such a sight to see with all the details you put in. The different angles and perspective you used really added more life to your pages that depict an otherwise mundane task (waking up and breakfast hah. Which incidentally I am having while typing this review). As a point of crit, I would suggest maybe thin the inks/lineart on objects in the background for more depth. You also cleverly depicted Myrtle's multiversal travel scenes by having the rift in dimensions represented as threads in time and space. This comic is really worth the wait and I can see and appreciate all the effort you put in. I hope we see more comics from you! Looking forward to Myrtle's next adventure!
WOW, this is such a fun little comic. I sure do love the little slice of life view we get into Myrtle's life. Your use of colours here is like a master class it all works so well and I am honestly fully in love with how you colour and render everything, I'll def be coming back to this comic and your future comics to study how you use colours they are amazing. I also have to give such props to the dimensions splitting and page 12 that was crazy. This was such a really awesome comic you did a great job on this, congratulations.
