Oculama

Ah! Oculama's first comic! Love the art and colors in particular. It is short but it illustrates what a lot of us go through sometimes on a normal day. Bored out of our minds, wanting something to do but then end up doing nothing lol. My favorite is the first panel. That 'Maaaaaaannnnnn' text. I really felt and heard that in my head. Also had a chuckle when I saw both Drug Test and Piss were marked as flammable. A part of me wished he went with it lol.

The comic left me wanting though. I wanted to read more! Can't wait for more Big Wizard comics.

This was a fun first comic to read here on the debut of this site, I really dug the coloring style choice you used here, kinda a water-color like style, and while this comic is a bit short and sweet, it still gave me a good laughter (which I should’ve been more careful as I was at work at the time I read this), some of my fellow co-workers had to do that same spell too, with similar reactions.

All in all I look forward to seeing more funny and magical antics from this big ol’ wizard, Keep up the good work, GUN.

What can be said about a GUN character that hasn't been said before? They're lackadaisical, they're purposely slackerish, and will go to the ends of the page- even past the fourth way to lobb a joke. It’s great to see this site be graced with your trademark traditional chops. It's double neat to see a 'powerful' character that isn't powerful if that makes sense. Or at least comes off as if he'd rather take the flammable way out that work on comics, lol. Humor ain't easy, but Big wizard makes it look like little more than magic. I can't wait to battle this guy.

Ahhhh a G U N comic in the flesh baby! The watercolours absolutely POP in the most wonderful way, that alongside Big Wizards big colour pallete itself all bright and gorgeous and shi...Feel like I could stare at these shapes and colours like a small little piss baby. Speaking of piss! Piss jokes are the height of comedy, 10/10 would piss again. Though there ain't spectacle in camera shot composition and angle, that definitely ain't a problem nor the focus of this comic, it is indeed... a The Funny comic with the visuals accompanying that wonderfully, gotta love the visual gags of both the piss AND the drug test being flammable heheh. Can only wish to have seen a little bit more characterization from Big Wizard. Though it is understandable and great what is seen, I suppose what I'd be asking for is just MORE of what is here already, to see The Big Wizard's Big Brain dug into slightly, motivations, background world they come from and all that. A great sense of character is absolutely present though, can already imagine the zany whacky shenanigans could occur. Hope to see more Big Wizard and Big Jokes!!

First critique and first comic goes to you, good man! I think your character design has improved a lot with this and I know when you created Big Wizard you were leaning towards Don Martin's style and looking at it more, I really think you're capturing that. I know you often lean in on verbal wordplay in your comics or funny jokes of that nature, but I was highly amused by the joke of flammable drug test and flammable piss. I think flammable piss moreso. Which, if you wanna try to get more of that style, I'd love to see you in the future do more visual gags. Maybe even study some of his comics and see about tackling a bit of that more, I think it'd work really well.

Fantastic comic, short and sweet and establishes the Big Wizard well. I love the limited colour palette, the focus on the reds cyans and yellows in each panel gives the whole thing a cohesive feel. I think this is the first time I've noticed that you hand-write your comics, I think I'm only seeing it now- it's really well done and reads clearly which Is something I've always found difficult, especially with small text which is still clear on your pages. I scored writing slightly lower mainly because I don't get the drug test piss bit, maybe that's the point? the Big Wizard isn't sure about it so maybe I'm not supposed to be. overall I think this is a great comic with some classic GUN comedy and plenty of character- excited to see the Big Wizard's future piss antics.

I have to say for how short this comic is it has to be one of my favorites so far on the site. I really love the visual humor and In think the joke about how both the drug test and sample are both flammable it really got a good chuckle out of me. Its really hard to give a critique on the art because the art serves a purpose for the joke and as good as it needs to be to give a good sense of timing for the joke. The comic and art is like a Mcdonalds Chicken Nugget™ a solid but loose base of chicken (Art) but it is there to deliver the delicious tangy Sweet and Sour sauce (Writing) into ones body in a way that is considered propper by society rather than eating whole dipping sauce packets and everyone at the Mcdonalds gives you strange looks and the kids wont stop crying as staff asks you to leave! So yah this comic is really good even without the best art it delivers such a good joke!

This is a cool comic. I like the artstyle so much, it just rules. And the big wizard seems like a cool guy to be around with. But I have a minor complaint, and it might sound stupid but.... I kinda wish he mixed the stuff. Wonder what kind of explosion it would make.... unless it's planned to be weapon! Or maybe a Chekhov's GUN? (worst joke of the decade). Still, this comic probably marks the beginning of a new era for OCTs and I am glad to see you make comics after a while. Love your stuff. Yours truly,

This had me laughing a good bit, I think I got a great feel for this character's voice, so good job there! I like the coloring style and texture too. Was this done digitally? It's done I such a way where I can't tell if it's a scan of a marker colored page or you had some cool brushes in a program. I am not well versed with more cartooney styles so I can't really comment on anatomy or anything like that, but I am finding the style to be really complimentary to the humor. I am still just kind beside myself over that jar of pee, I don't know why it's so funny to me. A bazillion drug tests for you, humorlord wizardpants.

I can relate to this big wizard. Sometimes you just want to play video games. Big respect for going traditional, it's always something that can give that extra bit of personality in comic art. Even with a relatively simple design Big Wizard is still expressive and fun. I did think this needed to be a bit longer though. I legit thought that I was missing another page at first. I guess the joke is he's trying to pass a drug test that's flammable while he's currently smoking so he's probably going to get caught on fire while trying? His bio says he pretty much can survive anything, maybe his disregard for general safety is the joke. I don't even think it needed a whole extra page, maybe just one more panel or so to sell the punchline a little bit more.

😀 MMMM that trademark G U N watercolour n ink traditional art style is always such a banger and makes me wanna impulse buy brush markers at the art store. excellent colour taste too, very vibrant and nice and poppy and nice.
🤔 Sort of wished mr The Big Wizard got a little more development but i guess this comic is a 'nuff said kinda thing anyway and fits the character really well i think.

Ah yes... classic Big Wizard material.
The comic is vibrant, gives off a chill mood, and definitely give off Big Wizard's personality. It seems like it cuts off early though. It's like he is indefinitely in the act of consideration of mixing two extremely flammable objects.
A small bit is how well the handwriting works, especially how "alchemy" sort of warbles a bit. I'm not sure how much is from how the letters naturally fell or by intention, but I just think it's neat.
This is irreverent and I love looking at this. Big Wizard is an inspiration to us all. Thank you.

Alright Big Wizard let's go. So i think the strength of this comic comes from the humour of it, even thought it is a really short one page comic it still is able to land a good joke. It's real intersting cause it's just a really mundane thing, big wizard has to take a drug test, but without given any context, it makes it funnier than it is. Can't help but love this guy and want to learn more about his antics, and why hopefully his piss is flamable. With just a bit more expanding and driving home a more dynamic punchline would've really given this a nice lil boost to what was already great. on top of the mastery you hold over water colours this was just a joy to read.
