This one had me laughing from page one all the way to the final panel. There's a lot of terrifically humourous elements at play, but my favorite bit from the laughs perspective is just how earnest Nyaomi and Dr. Fabulous are about ideas and plans that read as absolutely absurd in and out of context. I found myself nodding along to Dr. Fabulous' explanation on the key differences between sports and theme park mascots while at the same time snort-laughing at how genuine he and Nyaomi were about it.
But that genuine-ness has a lot of appeal outside of the humour too - you built a genuinely heartwarming uncle - niece relationship between Dr. Fabulous and Nyaomi that adds a level of heart to the comic that i think, at it's core is the comic's strongest element. It makes the reader feel good about laughing because we're not laughing at them for being silly, we're laughing because their sincerity is so delightful.
Very crisp work art-wise. Your honed sense with regard to line weight serves the comic well, and your texture work remains strong but subtle. I greatly enjoyed your visual take on Nyaomi - very distinct, and charming in its way, but maintaining the (literal and figurative) sweatiness of the character. She reeks of manic energy, as it ought to be, and matches Dr. Fabulous's energy throughout the comic.
Speaking of which, I love her mascot outfit. I did a double-take when she mentions is being trashed for its offensiveness.
I like the conceit you've set up with this match - Dr. Fabulous looking to monetize catgirls feels like exactly the sort of shenanigans I expect Nyaomi to get herself tangled up in, and having the body pillow of all things be a bridge to far for Dr. Fabulous made for a pretty darn funny punchline.
The beat-timing on the final page before Dr. fabulous' scratch wounds reveal was very funny (and nicely done on echoing the battle/ defeat/ victory poses for the good doctor.
Your page compositions are kicking serious ass in this comic. The cage setup on page two, with the barred panels and overall construction top to bottom following the structure looks AWESOME, and the reading flow is as smooth as it is on any other page. Arranging the panels of page 3 around the body pillow was a similarly strong choice, and adds a lot of punch to the ripping that emphasizes its importance.
Props too on the lighting throughout. the bottom panel of page 1 in particular, right before the reveal, has some great treats for the eye with the sunlight streaming in and giving that terrific glow to the OCs and object in the room. I'm a huge sucker for the sunlight-stremaing-through-dust look, and you capture the serenity of it wonderfully. The warm lighting giving way to the starker white light in the last page adds a lot of energy to the final page as well.
Fun read, and another wonderful Nyaomi misadventure~~~~
Stellar halftone work! you got me wanting to pick up these brushes and try my hand at them with how you manage to utilize them for shading and gray scaling. Really adds some texture and dimension to your inks. Despite you and your opponent relegated to 3 pages the pair of you didn't skimp on the quality as well as the funny. some of these expressions across all characters run the gamut of hilarious. rancid and utterly boggling, which I think is a great bit of whiplash to have XD
With how effortless you two make this look I hope this inspires others to give an ol' three pager challenge a try!
Haha never get between a catgirl and her body pillow. The punchline shot of Fabulous' scratched up face is a fantastic way to summarize the whole interaction XD
Ninja you have such a clever knack for worldbuilding the Junction in your comics, which makes your comics especially fun to pore through because it feels lived in. Great to see unsettling elements like Funbo land looming in the BG and your opponent looking to capitalize on it.
your colors per usual, bever fail to disappoint. I especially love that golden hour sunlight filtering through the windows on page 2 as well as the...fractals? shattered effects you added to the BG once the pillow gets ripped up. Really adds some oomph to what we're seeing. This one's actually going to be a tough vote!

What a fright, every page of this has such delights. From the horrified children to the mascot's giant proportions, every panel of this is elaborate and detailed enough to add an additional level of sincerity to the comedy, making the absurd imagery even funnier. Oddly, despite Fabulous being a major character to the comic, it feels like he doesn't bring as much to the plot as Naomi does: more a witness than an active participant. Even so, his personality shines through really well and their family support is a fun little twist on both's normally completely self absorbed personalities. It's great!

What a piece of horror. This comic has so much ambition to its compositions, managing to tell a ton of story in little space. There's a strong sense of comedic timing for a lot of the gags, but the ambitious paneling does hurt the comedy in a couple places. That's what taking risks is all about though! And it pays off for so much, that sacrifice is worth it. The colors in the background really stand out in a couple panels, they're colorful and show off the feeling of the comic more than anything literal, and that pays off perfectly in the last page. It's a nightmare!
It's fab time! Glad to see this classic duo finally get taken for a spin on Oculama, they're delightful as always. Seeing all the cameos of the previous tournament winners dining was cute. Artwise, this is standard stuff for you, I like to see you pushing the facial expressions in a goofy direction. I laughed out loud at the darnell the duck panel, "speak your indelible catchphrases duck brother" will be rattling around in my head for the next week. Overall, solid, cute, you've found your exact stylistic rhythm to be able to deliver a comic like this effortlessly, really just more refinement is all you need in the future.
I'm quite impressed by the creative panel compositions you delivered on each page of this comic, the environmental storytelling opening shots, the diagetic panel placement using the bars of the cage on page 2, and then finally the parallel action on page 3. Along with some really moody lighting, the style of this comic is really something else. The final page is lacking some pizazz - although conceptually cool, the closeup faces don't communicate the implied action very well so its a bit awkward, however its not by any means unreadable so if these choices were made at the expense of spending time drawing fullbody shots, it was ultimately a good tradeoff for the entire comic. Cool stuff!
What a Fantabulous First Comic!! I cant believe that it took us this long~
This is a wonderful, packed 3 page comic that hits every note it wants to hit, classic Eric style, extremely visually distinct and memorable on all fronts, comics always get bonus points for me for looking complete. and this one has a polish that i could buy in a store.
So bravo!
The biggest hurdle would just be the jokes and the humor, but i feel as if this does a good job using the format of a comic in order to sell its jokes, would read this in the sunday funnies!
The full color is always impressive, to say that this was one of the most complete comics with a polish that i can expect out of a ninja comic, this comic was solid with a funnier joke that i think was setup nicely with a wonderful page turn to Nyaomi in the cage
the panelling on the sequence especially was fantastic, the only complaint i can level against it, which is unfortunately the deciding factor for me, was the part in the last page where they're fighting over the pillow. On its own it was a fine joke but unfortunately there wasn't a clear reading that they were fghting over it in the first place. its spoken through dialogue but its never shown that theyre grabbing it or struggling with it in the first place
Wow, Eric! It’s been a while since I last saw your work, and this comic is nothing short of outstanding. I’m blown away by how polished it is—every character and background is drawn with incredible attention to detail. The tones are crisp and clean, making everything pop. And the writing is fantastic!
I couldn’t help but laugh at the clever way you avoided any potential lawsuits from the big D in that Duck Brother scene. The dynamic between Dr. Fabulous and Nyaomi is brilliant. Their godfather/goddaughter relationship was a clever development in your story, and watching Morty navigate their antics was both painful (for him) and hilarious.
I’m still curious, though—what exactly is offensive about Nyaomi’s cat costume? XD
Ninja, you and Eric made this battle incredibly tough to judge! The amount of work you put into this comic is clear in every panel. The colors and textures are fantastic, and I found myself lingering over the details—really impressive stuff. I also loved seeing Dr. Fabulous and Morty rendered in your unique style. And the Daisuke body pillow was awesome lol.
I have to admit, I was a bit confused at first by the ending—the "RIIIIIP" sound effect didn’t stand out right away. But after a second look, it all clicked, and I had a good laugh. Dr. Fabulous meeting his match in Nyaomi was pure comedy gold. Well done!
what an absolute treat of a comic!
Pacing was good, the set up was good and the overall gag was good. Your layout and paneling were crisp. your use of screen tone was really nice, strong values. Dr fabulous as a supportive godfather to an adorable furry kid, Morty's reaction to it all was a really nice base for the story. It was a really enjoyable read and I'm honestly having a hard time finding something to critique that isn't nit picky.
So thank you sharing this comic! Nice work, Dude! As always, I'm Looking forward to seeing more Dr. Fabulous comics!
This was a really fun comic to read.
I especially liked how you played around with your paneling in this one, that first page is really great, you really used your page layout effectively, blending the establishing shot, back grounds and panel work all together, you really used your first page effectively. I really enjoyed that. You're coloring was also really nice in this one, again, on the first page, that window lighting was nicely done.
the only critique that comes to mind as that the ending felt like it was setting up for one more page, and I felt it could have used just a bit more to land the ending.
Overall, I had a real nice time reading and thank you for sharing!!

This has a fantastic bouncy energy, the character work is really fun here giving everyone strong personalities. It feels like you recontextualize Nyaomi slightly to smooth her in with the tone and characters of your world but she still feels solidly like herself, the mascot arc is an incredible choice. The art is all around very clean and really strong, with some amazing expressions and a lot of great little detailing, down to the curly hairs on Fabulous' chest that imbue him with robust personality. Also it's really funny, like nearly every panel has a joke that lands, it's really tight. Also also eee lil beach body i see u.

This comic has stakes and drama and conflict it's real good. Your page comps are really strong, you make consistently creative paneling choices that blend the panels together without losing out on the readability at all. The story is a great scenario too, weirdo in a way the feels right for both characters, and the ending with that little spike in tension feels satisfying for how short the comic is. I wanna highlight how well thought-out the page composition is again on the last page, like with how initially the backdrop works as exposition just to show the daisukemakura but then the panel flow has such tight control over creating timing that the rip in the same backdrop image fits into the sequence smoothly, it's really well done. Also eeee funboland funboland
