Great comic!
I loved the sheer texture of your art and the upsetting nature of the Creep.
And the callback to Ledgem's round 1 with the Jaw, and this being how he gets taken out.
Didn't quite get a chuckle out of me, but came close a couple times, especially the "You forgot the roof" bit. What can I say, I don't laugh easily.
But the sheer energy of the comic made up for it.
I'm sorry you got this one handed to you, but for what it's worth, you deserve it.
This one turned out great. Much stronger, much more clear than the first round. The backgrounds did not go unnoticed this time and it's a lot stronger because of that. While the monochrome blue used through the comic was excellently made, it felt far stronger when paired with the orange. Maybe if an additional highlight color had been utilized or a backlight, it would have made everything pop all that much more in terms of the visuals. Again, you're taking to digital like a fish currently. It looks just like your traditional work and that's what's most impressive about it. Furthermore, it's great to see a purely comedy comic on the site. The jokes all hit great and the gags were just a blast to read. You're in your element here and you need to make sure you leverage it as often as you can! This was an excellent comic and you did great. Terrific work!
The gun really did kill him. XD
GUN your inclusion in such a flinty violent tourney is made better by your utterly unhinged hijinks put to paper. I had no idea how these little monkeys were going to fare against such heavy hitters on the roster, but well into round 2, I'm worried for whoever goes up against these pint sized powerhouses. I kind of love the added insult that if they take you out, it'll be in the most ridiculous way possible. You're clearly in your element with the humor and the convoluted attack plans your duo concoct in trying to dispatch The Creep. The cardboard safehouse and utterly long named German gun had me cracking up. Speaking of, the way you depicted the creep not only fit your flavor and universe but still felt loyal to what Sean built up in the last round. Even my nose wrinkled hearing the deranged requests he wanted to get up to with those monkeys all while laughing.
This was a mad round, and I cannot WAIT to see what you do going forward. Rooting for these weirdos!
Holy moly! You really took us to Creep-ville with this entry G U N! Normally I would say something about how folks should use some nice comic fonts but in your case, the hand-written lettering is just right. In fact, if you actually did otherwise, it wouldn't fit at all IMO. Everything just blends together in your own unique and distinctive style, including the color-coded speech bubbles and the uniquely-shaped panels. Not sure whether to laugh or be scared while I read your comic and that's a compliment lol. The ending was brutal and just perfect.
Tough to manage a compelling comedy duo when neither is the straight man, but you've managed it. You've made me inordinately fond of these dinguses, even with their questionable accuracy and purchasing of unethically sourced military surplus.
The Creep was suitably Creepy, all the little comedy touches like Arlene singing a Naruto opening landed, and I liked the use of color whenever they were in sufficient light for there to be color. Looking forward to seeming them in the finals.
What a silly comic!
Im happy to see such a goofy interpretation of The Jaw here. With his canon themesong too!
The lighting is cool (ha) in this one. Not every joke land for me but i had a good time reading it.
These poor guys, dealing with that creep. My favourite panel is probably the one where his face dents the elevator. I just love how you drew this freak in general though. A fitting end for him.
I’m always down for more silly monkey shenanigans and I don’t know what it is about these two but I love watching them be little ankle biting gremlins. They hit the perfect line between adorable and irritating and I mean that in the best way I swear! You wrote your opponent perfectly on brand, and I was especially a big fan of the death. The banter was solid between the brothers that was my favorite part. You really sell them as bickering dummies and that’s not an archetype we see often enough.
