Yay, I really looking forward to seeing this matchup of monster girls!
The story was really well-structured, giving us a good wrap up for Samara’s story as well as introducing us to Ramona’s personality and ability. I loved the extra care for the story in the extra comic at the end too! I need to give both of them a good hug. . .

I really enjoyed seeing you dig into Samara and Ramona's similarities and differences, it's a really nice way of highlighting and showcases the both of them as it ties directly into their powers as well. I enjoy the subtle shading too! I think the set up was really solid, my only qualm is that there are times where the speech is shrunk to fit the bubble/panel, and it makes it harder to read. The bonus page is a nice touch too!

Very cute very nice comic. I do love the angle you took here to focus on the aspects of certain heroes being monstrous and the public perception of those types of heroes. As a die hard xmen fan I do love to see that kind of stuff. Very impressed you got full colour in the week deadline and some bits of shading in. I think you can make those shaded parts a bit darker, just to add a bit more contrasts and make the shadows pop a bit more. It works better on the characters cause I do do believe you do that in some situations but the background shadows are pretty light, it doesnt make them pop as much as the characters do. Very good comic I loved the rescue sequence on page 4, and Ladybug holding up the bank was giving me all that superhero goodness I want. Great job!

I enjoy the setup for this comic; the conceit of practice crises as training for burgeoning superheroes is a staple of the genre by now, but it remains a fertile ground for storytelling. Points for working the ground rules of such a training into the writing and the artwork (I loved the touch of the bank robbers having paintball guns).

Your artwork is very crisp, and the action of your characters is easy to follow in a way that makes reading through the comic easy and clear. Not at all the low bar that some might think it is, so that's absolutely a credit to your skill.

A solid opening to Watchdog's story. Looking forward to seeing what you have in store for her next!

Dang dude! What a solid comic!
Impressive for the one week deadline!
I think the story was good, straight forward but utilized both characters very well, and I think it was a real win for Samara!

I liked the third panel on page four a lot. Ramonas movement worked nicely there and the action flowed nicely down to the last panel.

The only critique I have off the bat is some of the text gets a little squished in the word balloons, just account for that when planning out your composition, pretty minor thing though.

well done dude! Can't wait to see the next comic!

This was not only such a starting comic for the tournament, but such a great introduction to Ramona! You really helped sell her character so nicely - to say nothing of your opponent! You did such a great job fleshing them out as well! I really loved the little bit of colored ink you did for the backgrounds - I wish we had some more of that.
This was a good first round! I can't wait to see what you do next! Great job!

I love me a good Ben Grimm-esque monster hero plight! You've come a good ways from Comet Chasers and I love seeing the clear improvement here across the board with your work. If you've improved this much in so short a time just think of where you'll be by next year! One spot I noticed that could be improved in this comic is panel 3 of page 3: the word balloons are too far from each other, and thus upon first read I didn't realize I had to zig-zag between the baloons, that it was a back-and-forth. Err on the side of caution for legibility related things like this in the future. Good luck next round!

I can't tell you how chuffed I was to see the two monsters in this test tourney matched up together. Visually, these two have to be my favorite student by way of design. Ramona looks imposing, but the what they emote and interact gives them such a puppydog charm.
We don't often see the conflict there can be when a hero looks scary or imposing from the perspective of what those 'monsters' think, so it was intriguing to see an exchange of ideas between Ramona and Samara. I can't think of anything but just enjoying the feelgood cuteness of this comic and how our civilians in peril gained a newfound appreciation for these heroes in the making regardless of what they look like. Also got a good chuckle out of the aftermath bit at the end XD

oh man! this was done so well in such a little bit of time! I love the full arch for Samara freaking out about suddenly losing all her beauty and understandably lashing out about it while leaving growth for her in her not apologizing about it makes her feel both flawed and human! Ramona is very cute and I felt bad for her getting rejected by samara for friendship but I think that also gives way for her self esteem to improve in the coming rounds!
