Short sweet n punchy, just how we like em in Big Battle Babes Beatdown! Your art is very clean and the small touches of red are something that i really love in these Black n White comics and so i think you used them effectively. The ending is realllyy fuckin cute hahaha
The short page count is pr smart, especially that fuckin "AND THEN THEY FOUGHT" lmaoo thats always a classic. Action is readable and i love the stylization of your opponent! Its all good stuff and i for one, cant wait to see more Lucky Nothin comics! Good job, keep it up
waffle houses and looters / hooters locations, the ultimate combination that i could have ever gotten! thanks to you for using my location in your battle babes comic!
As for the comic itself its a shame that you couldnt put the time into it that you originally could! i hope everythings going well, what is here on the pages you got is pretty good! I like the usage of color and wild angles that you never shy away from!
All that stuff is stuff that you definetly should keep up with in your comics, keep up the dynamicism and risk taking!
Fun and flighty! There's some wonderful character work going on in this comic - DT reads as delightfully adaptable, both physically and situationally, flowing from peaceful to agitated to raring to fight over the course of the first two pages. Iraja also establishes herself quickly as composed and dangerous, with a lighter side coming out once Mehira hits the stage.
I'm fond also of how you've rendered the forest as a location within the battledome, in a sort of simulation/ hunger-games contained environment - slotting the settings into a less-fantasy and more-sci-fi flavor w/o losing the massive scale of the woods.
Very judicious use of color - the red highlights for Iraja's magicks is quite powerful, and lends a lot to the shot of DT's teeth.
Your perspectives are understated, but there's a lot of tremendous point of view angles in this comic, page 2 especially (low, high, and long to boot - a hat trick!). The low-angles of Iraja do a great job showing off the environment, and establishing her as the more antagonistic of the two main OCs.
The ending is nicely paced - it doesn't feel overlong, which is impressive since page-wise the wind-down lasts about half the total run length of the comic. I think that's a testament to how neatly you fit a lot of dialogue and action into the first two pages. I like the conceit of Iraja having to bow out on account of not securing a babysitter in time. Furthers the character work I mentioned earlier, and makes the comic a respectable showcase of your opponent as much as it is an excellent introduction to DT.
Very fun character, and excellent opening salvo for BBBB!
You always impress when it comes time to lay down the action sequences, and this comic is no exception; some genuinely finale-worthy violence rendered here in only the first round of the tournament!
Angles are phenomenal - the leaping shots, the projectile moves - there's enough great POVs afoot here to go on at length, and that's before the fight proper even begins. My personal favorites are the low-angle on DT's thigh on the bottom (if you will) of page 5 with Iraja coming down swinging, and the multi-perspective splash page with all the DT clones raining down from every angle.
(Favorite panel overall though is DT's openign punch at Iraja on the top of page 3; for sheer combination of detail, energy, and outright "wow!" factor, it takes the cake. it just narrowly beats out the panel of Iraja getting backed against the tree and DT's full-color panel - which is an AWESOME character shot, btw).
I love the snap from DT's casual projectile lob to Iraja speed-stepping into action. The escalation of hostilities jolts at a thrilling pace, and keeps up the tempo over an impressive number of pages. You show the fight off from so many sides that I found myself engaged all the way through.
Great high-octane stuff as always - hopefully Iraja can get the kiddo back before bedtime!

If I were to describe this comic in one word it'd be: clean. It's short, refreshing, and to the point.
his comic takes its time to demonstrate each of personality of each character (Tooth, Iraja, and Majhira), making efficient use of its panel count to get to the point. Energetic, I particularly love the expressions of the characters, wielding a particularly toony charm. The compositions are clean, easy to read, and well picked to carry the flow throughout a short comic. The toning is simple, but effective in providing depth and clarity to the comic where otherwise this style of lining may struggle.

This is a comic that feels like a tragedy in being unfinished. The ambition, the finished pages and panels have a quality that shines through! The action is extremely kinetic and generally able to be followed, even in an unfinished state. The shot choices are nice and dramatic. The few finished panels show a wondrous draftsmanship and rendering, though maybe too wondrous when it comes to finishing a comic.
It is also difficult to assess the writing of a comic that did not apply its lettering, leaving mostly a bare-knuckle fight between two characters. While comics can be carried by their visuals, this one feels like it is very much missing something without its text.
You definitely played it smart with the short page count and have a fully fledged and tight story to go with it. I only wish if the fight was going to be off screen, if we'd been able to see some of the exchange between Iraja and Devil. Fight choreo is tough and I feel the cut to the daughter and mention of time passing was a very clever workaround and something of a cheeky punchline. But if there's any place to give fighting scenes a bit of a shot, it'd be in a tourney like this.
I can't tell you how pleased I am to see this character on Oculama, much less in a tourney like Battle Babes- Devil's Tooth is simply made for comic battles like these and she truly shines.
I think you were very ambitious with your output vs your time which is too bad. You have garnered such a penchant for big epic blowout comics and tournies like these are no exception. Deadlines are tough but they do teach us how much we can turn out and ensure all pages are of the same quality. I definitely recommend trying to condense your comics to better reflect the duration of the deadline. A few pages and a short story that are given the full output of your detailing and quality would be really stellar. Even now, you have some standout pages like the vignette on page 9 that really wow the viewer.
Nice comic, short and sweet. I would have liked to see some more action take place because the red energy line on your first page's last panel had a lot of potential behind it. Your environmental art was looking pretty good as well. The loss involving the daughter was a cute ending. While it seemed like you lost a little steam as the round went on, it was still a cute comic. I do really like the appearance and design of Devil's Tooth and I want to see you do more with her in the future! Even if it's not in the tournament. Good work!
Ahh, it is such a shame you had that move happen. Can't do much about life though, and for what its worth, you did good turning in something. You have so much character happening with your sketches, as well as a lot of very readable movement and exciting action going on. I am a little lost when we get to page 9, presumably multiple clones but it just becomes a bit tough to read what's going on with that. I really would have enjoyed to have seen it finished, but it's always nice to see you make stuff, even if it's unfinished. I do hope that we get to see more comics from you real soon. Good work!

Wough, the action and paneling in this are so dynamic, and your use of values makes things so easy to read. It also sets things up quickly as intense, action packed and dramatic! A great setup for the subversion later on, with things zooming out and becoming so much shallower and homely. The only criticism I have is of the last page, its timing is awkward and feels a little too dense. It feels like it could have breathed a little better as two, but it's a minor bit. Overall, this comic's a great, effective introduction to the tone of the tournament! A real babe battle!

The page composition and cinematography here are incredibly on point, extremely dramatic and full of personality. In both finished and unfinished pages, that dynamism gives the comic life, but also sometimes becomes hard to read to the point that impact is lost. But when it works? IT WORKS. The imagery is extreme, it's cool and it flows like water with every moment feeling big. This is another comic that perfectly encapsulates babes battling as a tournament! It's a shame this couldn't see the fully rendered light of day, but even in its current form, this is a comic to be proud of!
