This was excellent. Didi having long been established on the site, Deirdre makes for a great evolution to the character's story. Outside of the bubble pop and glam that Didi embodies, Deirdre has such a great vibe to her. To say nothing of the comic itself, which is tremendous.
The story is fantastically somber and does a good job of getting us into their world. Your monologue was good and the last page interjected a welcome bit of levity to remind us who they're up against. This is a great introduction.
The art is very well done. Love the opening establishing shot and all of the terrific background work. The panel of Deirdre looking out the window was fantastic with their deep spot blacks. The pale grey-blue color gives it a zine feeling, very gritty and indie comix. The general criticism would be levied at a bit of the anatomy and posing, but thats stuff that is improved with practice. It's possible her hair is giving an illusion, but Deirdre's head looks a little big in a few spots. Again, practice will work on that.
This was an amazing introduction. Odds are very good that you will be very popular once you open her up for battle and collabs once this tournament is concluded for Tembel - and rightfully so! Excellent work!

oh my god this artstyle was so cool and played really well with who I assume is one of the OG didi copies! Going with a monologue is great and plays well with the montage of travel. Just with this little snippet I really really wanna know more about Deirdre and whats her next move and why the Didi hivemind wants her back. The use of violence and that bleeding tears panel were so impactful and still delivers on the morbidly humorous and macabre action ive come to love from DiDi comics really great new entry to the saga of Didi/deirdre

HOT DAMN! What a good Intro comic! Really gave us a strong idea of who Deirdre is as a character, from the writing all the way down to the aesthetic direction you went for the comic. Really anchored down who exactly we are dealing with.

The panel layouts worked really well, everything flowed really nice making a very easy reading experience, the action was really well done too.
The only critique I can think of off the bat is I think some spots could have benefit from pushing the values a bit more, I think Page 5 and panels 2 and 3 on page six highlight this the most.

Some of the halftones are really close in value in kinda blend together a bit more than intended I think. For the darker value maybe a smaller, denser half tone would have worked. Some of the detailing in the line work gets lost because it's fighting up against the halftone. (panel 2 page six, with the bodies on the floor) I think there a smaller, denser half tone would have worked well, make the dead didi's around the bar pop out more. They are just competing visually since the perceived value is so close together.

That being said, this is a really strong comic and a really strong introduction to Deirdre, I honestly can't wait to read more about her!! I'm in love!!
well done dude!!

I love the gritty kind of like, biker-noir atmosphere this has, I'm immediately excited to see more of the character and her world. This art style does a lot to build that vibe, there's a scratchy quality in the spotblacks and the lineart that's really cool, and matches really well with the heavy screentones. There are a couple places where the screentones blend and make figures a little bit hard to parse in some of those more drawn back shots, but for the most part you do a really good job managing it and keeping everything immediately readable. I also really like your character designs here, they're grounded while being really expressive and conveying an immediate sense of personality that adds a lot of chemistry and attachment to the short, silent romance.

This is a master class on inking. The spot blacks, screentones, the use of negative space, the wonderful TEXTURE where your blacks aren't perfectly filled but had some grit and personality is superb. I got a general idea that Deidre was inspire by little more than a 'what if' conversation over discord DMs, which is utterly wonderful. Some of the best comic ideas are borne of just having a chit chat with others who are JUST into comic work and storytelling. This concept of an 'older model' whose just trying to live, but has what little she's scraped together taken away from the younger modern collective is such a great straw that broke the camels back. I am SO ready to see Deidre going full John Wick on the masses. Way to expand on your most popular character :D

AAAH I love everything about this. The story, the character, the aesthetic and art style! I have such a soft spot for femme fatales and Deirdre checks all the boxes and more. The connection to Didi is also such a great way to hook me to the story even more. Needless to say, I'll be looking forward to more of Deirdre's story in the future. Such a wonderful character in design and substance. 10 out of 10!
